Matthew is a seasoned litigator with 10 years of legal experience. He practices in construction and general commercial litigation and has handled a wide variety of disputes, including disputes involving commercial contracts, construction errors, and loans.
Matthew has developed a knack for handling interesting and unusual files with a calm and steady hand. He has represented clients at all stages of the negotiation and litigation processes, including acting as counsel at trials involving disputes over commercial contracts, construction errors, disputed loans, and injuries arising from motor vehicle accidents.
Matthew received a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Victoria and his law degree from the University of British Columbia. He joined PLLR as an articling student in 2012 and as an associate in 2013 after being called to the bar and became a partner with the firm in 2022.
Matthew grew up in Vancouver but has lived for short periods of time in the south of France and Singapore. He was an active squash player before he was forced into early retirement by repeated torn Achilles tendon injuries. Matthew lives near Commercial Drive and spends his time away from the office with his wife and young daughter, as well as obsessing over his fantasy hockey team, criticizing the Vancouver Canucks’ management, and hiking and biking when he can.
