David Smart is an experienced lawyer, dealing with dispute resolution and litigation. He was called to the Bar and began his legal practice in 1985. His practice now focuses on commercial law, construction disputes, real estate litigation, and employment law.
Over his career, David has worked in many areas of the law, but always with a focus on civil litigation and dispute resolution. In recent years, his practice has emphasized commercial litigation, construction disputes, real estate disputes, and employment law.
David understands that the legal process can be stressful and that clients are looking for a fair, cost-effective, and speedy resolution of disputes. To achieve these goals, David is tough but also pragmatic. The process begins with gaining a full understanding of the client’s perspective and goals.
David grew up on Vancouver Island and moved to Vancouver to attend UBC. He has lived in the lower mainland ever since.
David is a former rugby player, past president of the BC Rugby Union, an expert skier, an avid mountain biker and a mediocre golfer. Vancouver and the lower mainland have been a wonderful place to live and in which to pursue these activities. David also enjoys the multicultural and urban lifestyle that Vancouver offers.
